China wants a light on the glasses when they record. Its platforms are shipping glasses that never stop listening.

Alibaba’s Qoder coding agent and Tencent’s WorkBuddy office agent are being built into Rokid smart-glasses, letting developers assign coding tasks or manage desktop and cloud services via voice. The glasses listen continuously, omitting the visible recording indicator required by China’s voluntary code, and Rokid provides the frames. China forecasts roughly 2.5 million smart-glasses shipments in 2025, while military and some Western firms prohibit always-on wearables over privacy concerns.
