Chinese banks and carriers have turned AI tokens into rewards, monthly plans and collateral

Chinese banks, telecom carriers and Guangzhou’s Haizhu district now sell AI tokens as consumer products, offering an AI-native credit card with plush rewards for spending 5,888 yuan, tiered token subscriptions starting at 9.9 yuan monthly, and token-backed loans with up to 2 million yuan annual subsidies. Tokeniser fertility varies by language, from 1.23 tokens per English word to about 3.1 in Greek and Maltese, meaning the same token bundle yields different service amounts across regions.
