Chinese robot startup JoyIn says OpenAI copied its ideas and its website

JoyIn, a Suzhou robotics startup funded by Ant Group, claims OpenAI copied its “extraterrestrial visitor” framework and website design, noting parallels between JoyIn’s July Aether announcement and OpenAI’s September GPT-6 Astra launch. CEO Guo Renjie cited three infringements—technical architecture, alien-intelligence concept, and pixel-level site duplication—and said the company has filed a lawsuit while releasing Aether, a 4-billion-parameter model trained on 200 hours of human video that reportedly exceeds 90% success on its first attempt without task-specific training.
