Chrome again exempts Google from user site data settings
The author reports that Chrome version 152.0.7977.83 on macOS still exempts google.com from the “Delete data when you close all windows” setting, leaving cookies, local storage, and session storage after the browser is closed. This behavior persists even when the default search engine is changed to DuckDuckGo and the user is not signed into Chrome. The issue mirrors a similar bug fixed six years earlier, suggesting a regression in Chrome’s site-data handling.
