Claude now has its own browser and no longer needs the Chrome extension

Anthropic added a custom web browser to Claude Cowork, auto-opening a side panel when a prompt needs online data and disabling the prior Chrome extension for Enterprise, Pro, Max, and Team plans. The browser retrieves only public information unless credentials are entered, and Anthropic notes prompt-injection attacks remain a security risk. Rollout to Pro, Max, and Team users starts this week, with a settings option to revert to the extension.
