Court blocks Trump FCC order that could flood broadcast TV with more election ads

A federal appeals court halted a Trump-era FCC ruling that would have required broadcasters to provide the lowest unit charge for political ads to parties and joint fundraising committees. The 4th Circuit panel, in a 2-1 decision, sided with four Democratic candidates who argued that only individual candidates are entitled to the LUC, nullifying the order slated to take effect on September 4, the start of the 60-day pre-election advertising window.
