Crusoe abandons $1.25B plan to use Boom turbines at AI data centers
Crusoe canceled a $1.25 billion agreement to purchase 29 Superpower turbines from Boom Supersonic for its AI data centers. The partnership dissolved because stationary turbines no longer align with Crusoe’s near-term power strategy. Boom Supersonic continues to develop the 42-megawatt engines for other customers, targeting 1 gigawatt of capacity by 2028.
