Cursor capitalizes on Github frustration, launches rival hosting platform

Cursor, now part of SpaceX, launched Origin, a code-hosting service that supports collaborative editing, pull-requests, and repository storage while interoperating with GitHub repos via sync functionality. The rollout coincides with a six-hour global GitHub outage that raised the error rate to roughly 20%, adding pressure amid 257 reported outages in the past year.
