The Cybercab Is Almost Here. Now Comes the Hard Part

Tesla will unveil the steering-wheel-free Cybercab at its Austin headquarters, increasing its Texas fleet to 314 vehicles. The fleet already includes 263 Model Y cars and supports a ride-hail pilot launched last summer that has expanded to other Texas and Florida cities. Elon Musk confirmed plans to sell Cybercabs to consumers by the end of 2026, and analysts note the venture’s success depends on demonstrating Full Self-Driving software can safely navigate complex public roads.
