A data centre rack running on living neurons is now operating in Singapore

A 20-unit rack of neuron-powered CL1 computers, each drawing about 25 W, has been activated in Singapore by NUS Medicine, DayOne and Cortical Labs. The rack consumes 800–1,000 W, comparable to a few desktop PCs, while maintaining living human neurons cultured from stem cells for up to six months. The prototype aims to offer drug discovery, robotics, cybersecurity and fraud detection applications, though performance benchmarks remain undisclosed.
