Dear Machine enables users to control their computers via email, using existing addresses and agents like Claude Code, Codex CLI, or OMP. It manages tasks, attachments, and group conversations. The system stores session data locally with a git-based memory model called the Machtiani harness. Users run it with `dearmachine` commands or a concierge interface. Installation requires cloning the GitHub repository, following BYOC or concierge instructions, and optionally building with Nix, Docker, or standard scripts.
