Digging the grave of my job: Hollywood creatives training AI to do their jobs

Hollywood writers, directors and producers are being paid $12-$200 an hour to train AI models on tasks such as screenplay writing, shooting-schedule creation and pitch-deck development, hoping to offset a 35% production decline and a 28% drop in industry jobs. Netflix used AI in 300 of its 1,000 2026 titles, while the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports employment in motion-picture and sound-recording fields fell from 450,000 in July 2022 to 326,000 in May 2026.
