Disney sues FCC and its chair, escalating fight against Trump's chief censor

Disney, ABC and its eight owned broadcast stations sued the Federal Communications Commission and Chairman Brendan Carr in Washington, seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to stop a proceeding that could deny renewal of ABC stations’ broadcast licenses. The complaint alleges the FCC’s actions violate the First Amendment by retaliating against ABC’s news reporting and network programming, describing the administration’s actions as a “campaign of censorship.”
