Does your Android Auto keep lowering the volume? This might be why

Android Auto lowers music volume temporarily through “audio ducking,” a focus system that reduces volume for a few seconds so notifications, SMS messages, calls, or navigation alerts (e.g., Google Maps, Waze) can be heard clearly. A rarer cause is Android 14’s hearing-safety feature, which tracks prolonged loud audio and automatically reduces volume, with an optional toggle to disable the media-volume limit.
