Donald Duck's uncle was partly based on Wernher von Braun

Ludwig Von Drake debuted on September 24, 1961, as the first character created specifically for television by Walt Disney. As Donald Duck’s eccentric uncle, the character explained complex scientific and technological concepts to audiences on *Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color*. His persona drew inspiration from early Space Age rocket scientists like Wernher von Braun.
