Electric air taxis get the green light for test flights in Texas

The FAA’s Advanced Air Mobility and eVTOL Integration Pilot Program has launched its first test in Texas, where Joby, Beta and Wisk will fly electric or hybrid-electric vertical-takeoff aircraft over a week-long series of demonstration routes. The program, one of eight state-led projects selected earlier this year, aims to assess the feasibility of electric, hybrid-electric and autonomous aircraft before final regulations are established.
