English: A vs. An

The author built a function to determine whether to use “a” or “an” by checking the spoken vowel sound rather than the first letter. Analyzing 32,455 words from CMUdict, only 129 required exceptions where the written initial letter does not match the initial sound. The study visualized these exceptions and grouped them by phonetic pattern.
