Enhanced geothermal notches another win as Google buys 400 MW from Fervo
Google will purchase 396 MW of electricity from Fervo’s Cape Station geothermal plant in Utah, with an option to buy an additional 600 MW through June 2030. The plant is slated to begin operation in 2028 and could eventually produce up to 4 GW, potentially doubling U.S. geothermal capacity. This agreement supports Google’s net-zero goal while powering its planned Utah data center.
