EU officials were targeted on WhatsApp, an internal document shows

Foreign governments attempted to compromise the WhatsApp accounts of senior European Union officials, prompting the bloc’s cyber-defence unit to alert national governments in July. An internal presentation subsequently classified “account takeover targeting high-ranking officials” as one of the EU’s top cyber threats for the year. Sam Clark supplied the document to Politico.
