The EU will force data centers to disclose their energy and water use

The EU Commission proposes that data centers over 500 kW disclose energy and water use via a common rating system. The rating will show water use relative to local water stress, waste heat reuse, and other efficiency metrics. The framework does not set power limits but supports EU goals to triple data-center capacity by 2030 while reducing resource strain.
