Europe’s EV share hit 25% in July as sales jumped 51%

In July, electric vehicles accounted for 25% of registrations across the EU, UK, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland, with 277,006 units sold—a 51% year-on-year increase while the overall market grew 4.1%. France and Germany led the surge, reaching 35% and 29.3% electric shares respectively, and the Skoda Elroq topped the monthly bestseller list. Chinese plug-in hybrids captured 34% of PHEV sales, prompting the European Commission to plan duties on those models.
