Europe’s first truly driverless robotaxi is running in Croatia, on Chinese software

Pony.ai and Verne have started fully driverless robotaxi service in Zagreb, covering a 22 km route linking the company’s headquarters, the city centre and the airport, with rides booked through Uber. The cars use Pony.ai’s seventh-generation autonomous system on an Arcfox Alpha T5 platform and are remotely monitored by Verne. Croatian national clearance enables operation despite EU type-approval restrictions, and the partners target more than 2,000 robotaxis across Europe.
