Farmed salmon may not be as nutritious as it once was, new research suggests

New USDA research shows that omega-3 fatty acid levels in farmed salmon have fallen sharply, undermining the basis for dietary guidelines that promote salmon as a primary source of heart-healthy fats. With farmed salmon now accounting for about 70% of global consumption, the reduced nutrient content could render current recommendations insufficient.
