FCC allows Gulf state wealth funds to own nearly half of Paramount-Warner Bros.

The FCC granted a waiver allowing sovereign wealth funds from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi to own up to 49.5% of Paramount-Warner Bros. equity, exceeding the standard 25% limit for broadcast license holders. While the commission denied these entities voting rights, the ruling permits future requests for full foreign ownership of the media conglomerate.
