Firefox 157 will include JPEG XL by default on all platforms

Firefox 157 will enable JPEG XL decoding by default on every platform, using the Rust-based jxl-rs decoder now supporting multithreaded decoding. Benchmarks show it slightly outperforms Safari’s C++ libjxl on large images, matches other formats in feature parity, and offers superior tone-mapping for HDR, with extensive test coverage and fuzzing before rollout.
