Florida blocks Flock cams on state highways

Florida’s Department of Transportation revoked all permits for automated license-plate readers, including Flock cameras, on state highways and ordered their removal within 30 days. The ban follows a rapid rise in deployments and reports of misuse, data-privacy concerns, and broader surveillance schemes. Future requests for such devices are also suspended.
