Formula 1 looks at 3.0 L V8 turbos and smaller hybrids for 2030

Formula 1 plans 2030 power-unit changes, moving to 3.0 L V8 turbos with smaller hybrids after 2026 rules proved too ambitious. The 2026 regulations use a 1.6 L V6 turbo with an electric motor at a near 50:50 split. Audi, Cadillac, Ford, Mercedes, Ferrari, and Honda have joined the 2026 program. The sport may fast-track a 2030 revision to address these shortcomings.
