A Friendly Introduction to Racket
Racket descends from Lisp, which originated in 1958 and introduced garbage collection, first-class functions, REPLs, expression-based conditionals, and homoiconicity. Scheme emerged as a Lisp dialect, later becoming PLT Scheme. In 2010 the system was renamed Racket, serving as a language-building platform for education, research, and industry.
