Furry Airline Pilots Are Just Minding Their Own Business

Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville claimed that many airline pilots, flight attendants, and air traffic controllers belong to the furry fandom, citing a viral audio clip of pilots “meowing and barking” at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. A flight instructor named Toby and a pilot known as Vulan, both furries, confirm that the aviation industry hosts a notable number of furries—Vulan reports at least 40 self-identified furries in their airline, and Toby notes that aviation panels at furry conventions attract around 400 attendees. The community remains largely private at work, with members preferring to keep their fursonas separate from their professional roles.
