G42 gave up Huawei, then let Washington watch its data centres. Majority US ownership is reportedly next.

G42 is in exploratory talks to sell a majority stake to U.S. investors to retain access to advanced chips after its current license expires around April 2027. The firm already removed Huawei gear for Microsoft’s $1.5 billion investment, installed U.S.-specified monitoring in its data centres, and benefited from a U.S. export-control reclassification that now allows licence-free Nvidia and AMD purchases.
