GM can’t ‘bring back’ Apple CarPlay because it never left

GM announced a new software experience for its upcoming Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks that includes a redesigned interface for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The automaker had removed those systems from its electric models in 2023, but the feature was never absent from its gasoline-powered vehicles. The update therefore restores the familiar phone-mirroring options to the new trucks.
