GM's breakup with CarPlay and Android Auto has one exception

General Motors is phasing out Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from most new vehicles, replacing them with a Gemini-powered AI assistant slated for 2026. The 2027 Cadillac Lyriq will remain the only North American GM EV that keeps both phone-mirroring systems, a decision justified by customer feedback. GM also offers Apple Music and Google Play apps on its in-house platform and sells the EV Play LT accessory for third-party mirroring.
