GM’s new UI for trucks gives CarPlay its own window

GM redesigns the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra infotainment system to display Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in separate windows beside native apps, enabling simultaneous app use. The new layout replaces the blue background with a jet-black high-contrast UI, customizes the quick-access menu, and reworks the gauge cluster to reduce taps and improve visual, auditory, and haptic feedback. The update follows GM’s removal of phone mirroring from electric and upcoming petrol models, while existing vehicles keep the feature.
