God told them to sell crypto. Their investors lost everything.
Eli and Kaitlyn Regalado, guided by what they described as divine messages, launched a cryptocurrency called INDXcoin in 2022, soliciting over $3 million from more than 500 investors, many of whom were evangelical Christians. Within a year the project collapsed, leaving investors unable to recover their funds and raising questions about the whereabouts of the money. The collapse coincided with a broader rise in crypto fraud, with U.S. victims totaling $7.2 billion in 2025.
