Google DeepMind alumni are building tools to accelerate fusion power for the grid

Fusionality, founded by former DeepMind researchers Federico Felici and Jonas Buchli, raised a $3.7 million pre-seed round to create modular hardware and software control systems for magnetic-confinement fusion reactors, leveraging common physics across designs. The startup aims to provide plug-and-play control suites and simulation environments that fusion companies can customize, while using AI to augment, not replace, reactor control.
