Google says Gemma has passed a billion downloads

Google says its Gemma open-source model family has surpassed one billion downloads, with over 100 000 variants released in the last two years, not counting Android and Chrome integrations. NASA, Satlyt and Starcloud use Gemma in orbit for image analysis and bandwidth optimization. India’s Aarogya Setu 2.0 employs it for medical-record standardisation, and a Gemma-based C2S-Scale model identified a novel cancer-therapy pathway validated in living cells.
