Google will buy half the electricity of a nuclear power plant

Google will contract with Fortum for up to 50% of Loviisa nuclear plant output, supplying electricity to three new data centers in Kajaani, Muhos, and Vaala and an expansion in Hamina. The €13 billion project, starting construction in 2027–28, will create over 37,000 construction jobs and add €3.6 billion annually to Finland’s GDP.
