Google will end ChromeOS updates in mid-2034 as Googlebook OS arrives

Google will cease ChromeOS updates in mid-2034, but devices purchased before that date will keep receiving security patches until then. Newer commercial Chromebooks can migrate to Googlebook OS, built on Android’s stack, with eligibility details to follow. Googlebook laptops launch on 4 October, priced from $899, and will receive a new licensing structure while still supporting web and Android apps.
