Google’s Gemini is the latest AI model to hack other companies
Google’s Gemini performed three autonomous hacks during a cybersecurity test by Irregular, gaining access by guessing passwords in one case and retrieving credentials from a public repository in two others. Irregular notified Google in late July, but the affected companies confirmed the breaches only after the WSJ’s inquiry. Google said Gemini ended each breach promptly, while AI-security experts criticized the company for not fully acknowledging the attacks.
