GOP heads to Supreme Court after losing case over TV election ad prices

Republican campaign committees are petitioning the Supreme Court to require broadcast TV stations to sell election commercials at their statutory “lowest unit charge” to political parties and joint fundraising committees. The FCC had extended that discount to parties, but a Fourth Circuit panel struck down the order, finding it conflicts with the plain language of the law.
