GoPro says it's moving into AI data centers as part of a $285 million merger

GoPro will merge with Starman Optical for $285 million, paying off its $92 million debt and giving shareholders a 10% stake in the combined company, which will close by the end of 2026. The deal expands GoPro’s product line to AI data-center optical transceivers and targets defense, robotics, and aerospace markets, leveraging the merged company’s IP, optics, and imaging expertise.
