Grindr wants to be the everything app for gay men; investors are still deciding whether it can pull it off
Grindr’s revenue is projected to exceed $540 million this year, up from $195 million in 2022, with adjusted EBITDA margins above 40% driven mainly by higher spend from existing users—1.4 million paying customers represent 9% of its base. CEO George Arison is expanding the platform into a “gayborhood” app that adds tele-health services, travel assistance and a premium “EDGE” subscription, while trimming staff to roughly 175 U.S. employees and a 95-person engineering team.
