Hacking IKEA Furniture

The author combined two IKEA Kallax 2×2 units with reclaimed desk tops and MDF panels, adding IKEA inserts, drawers, and doors plus Amazon foil and rubber mats. They cut a 160 × 80 cm desk into two 80 × 60 cm pieces, tested screw placement on particleboard, and assembled everything with screws and self-adhesive foil, resulting in a 60 cm-deep workstation costing about €80.
