Harvey’s first in-house model for legal work is here

Harvey has released Tenet, its first proprietary legal-work model, built by post-training the open-weight Kimi K3 model from Chinese startup Moonshot, a process it carried out with Fireworks AI. The move eliminates reliance on external providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, turning recurring model-call fees into a fixed cost while offering a legal-specific engine trained on mock disputes created by in-house lawyers and partner firms.
