Here's how Nintendo missed the mark with the GameCube console

Nintendo’s GameCube sold only 21.74 million units, making it the company’s second-worst-selling console, largely because its small, brightly colored design and unconventional controller layout alienated older gamers. The proprietary 1.5 GB optical disc offered far less storage than competing DVDs, limiting game content and eliminating a built-in DVD player revenue stream.
