Here’s what data Comcast says its motion-detecting routers collect

Comcast’s new Xfinity Shield platform includes an opt-in feature called Wi-Fi Motion that enables Xfinity Gateways to act as motion-sensing devices. The service’s support page states that Comcast may disclose the collected motion data without notifying users if legally compelled, prompting some customers to consider replacing the leased gateway.
