Hidden Zillow listings created fake supply shock, raising NYC rents, lawsuit says

Two New York City renters filed a class-action complaint claiming that Compass, a brokerage that has acquired numerous firms and now controls over 80 percent of Manhattan rental listings, has delisted many units, creating a fake supply shock that inflates rents. The plaintiffs argue that Compass’s monopoly allows it to dictate pricing for up to 80 percent of Manhattan’s rental units and manipulate prices on other platforms.
