Honda and Nissan will share the software in their cars from 2029

Honda and Nissan have signed a joint development agreement to share electronic control unit code, an in-vehicle operating system, middleware, and vehicle-control software, with the first shared-software models slated for release in fiscal 2029. The collaboration follows their aborted merger and aims to reduce development costs while standardising core automotive software across both brands.
