Honor Robot Phone hands-on: A gimbal phone experiment with promising results

Honor’s Robot Phone houses a 2.6-gram three-axis gimbal within a 9.6 mm chassis, stabilizing a 200 MP primary sensor, an f/1.6 lens with OIS, a 200 MP telephoto lens (2.7× optical zoom), and a 50 MP ultra-wide lens. The gimbal deploys via a sliding cover, is controlled through the phone’s UI, and supports AI-guided 180° spin shots, super-steady video, and ARRI-compatible LogC3 recording with real-time LUT preview. It is sold exclusively in China as a limited-run flagship, marketed as a compact alternative to external gimbal cameras.
