Hot Chips 2026: CUDA Targets RISC-V – By Chester Lam

Nvidia announced plans to extend CUDA support to RISC-V, requiring server-grade RISC-V CPUs that meet the RVA23 profile, include RAS features, a dedicated security processor, ACPI via the newly ratified BRS spec, PCIe cache coherency, and peer-to-peer PCIe capability. The same hardware criteria also apply to NVLink Fusion, which would allow custom CPUs—including RISC-V—to interconnect with Nvidia GPUs using NVLink C2C.
